Today was not my favorite day having learned about the sudden and unwelcome news about Satoshi Kon’s passing. His work is wonderful, he had a style of animation direction that is both fun and startling, his stories always straddle the line between the life of the mind and the life outside and always in the most energetic fashion. So in proper keeping with my own traditions, I’m going to spend the week watching his movies in between pages of freelance work and my secret personal comic work that isn’t already Garage Raja related.
