Garage Raja In 2012
2011 was a big year for both me and Austin. Both of us managed to escape from the imploding carcass of Lake Charles (a place that was decaying into the ground, no longer fit for habitation), and into the bigger world: For myself, Portland, Oregon; For Austin, Hong Frickin’ Kong. Though the distance that separates the two of us is pretty immense, it hasn’t intruded on our production schedule of the comic and its fair to say that we have a pretty good idea of what you can expect in 2012.
First and foremost, what you’re reading right now, Album 3. This is the continuation and the conclusion of the events in Album 2. This is also the strongest work either of us have done so far. It’s taken considerable redrafting of scripts, redrawing of pages, and much gnashing of teeth to bring this album together within our rather precarious timetable. As of this writing, I stand on the rocky precipice that precedes my dive into penciling the final track of Album 3, all the while taking deep breaths as I await the “all clear” signal from Austin. My aim is a deeper dive, this is no mere plunge, there are depths to reach, further below than I’ve ever gone before and my hope is that when you do finally get to reading it that you’ll be stunned to see this performance, that each and every page will be a treasure.
Second, expect to see greater proliferation of Garage Raja, from both your own efforts and ours. I am no expert salesman, marketeer, or promoter, but I feel confident that 2012 will be a crucial year for new readership. Just a hunch.
Finally, in the vast expanse of the ocean of our story, what can be seen on the horizon; out there where the sky and the sea become two colliding blocks of blue?
It’s something colorful, its very far away, but it gleams.
